Dell Studio One 19 Review - The Perfect Choice of an "All-In-One" Computer

!±8± Dell Studio One 19 Review - The Perfect Choice of an "All-In-One" Computer

The Dell Studio One 19 is a perfect example of what many people refer to as an "all-in-one desktop". It can be customized for a variety of uses, including entertainment, business, school, and general computer functions. The price ranges from 9 to 99. You have numerous options to choose from when ordering this desktop. If you only need it for general use, you can settle with the basic specs at 9. However, if you want to do some gaming and watch Blu-ray movies, you need to upgrade the specs.

The processor options range from Intel Pentium dual-core E5300 to Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q8200, and the memory options range from 2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM and 4GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM. You can also choose integrated graphics that support Blu-ray discs. NVIDIA and ATI are both available options for the Dell Studio One 19.

You will notice that this system has a compact form. Despite having a lot of hardware, it measures 21.9" by 15.5" by 3.2". It's not heavy at all, so you should be able to lift it and move it around at ease. You can choose between a sleek black or pure white color. An 18.5" widescreen display is included with the package. For the monitor, you can choose from four colors: white, red, black, and blue. The display is very sharp with an16:9 aspect ratio.

There is also an optional multi-touch screen feature! If you add this feature to your option, you won't regret your decision. The multi-touch panel is worth every dime. It has pre-installed apps such as windows media player, IE, paint, photo editing and resizing, and so forth. You can easily draw or write on the screen! If you're not sure if you can afford this panel, just use a Dell Studio One 19 coupon. They are available online to help make Dell PC's more affordable to consumers.

There are so many things you can do with this "all-in-one" PC. You can chat with friends via the integrated webcam and built-in microphone. You can run all the multimedia applications you want without experiencing any crashes. You can easily connect your iPod, digital camera, and any other portable device thanks to six USB ports.

This computer is pretty fast overall. You can stream television shows and music without any problems. Whether you choose an ATI or NVIDIA graphics chip, you will more than likely be impressed with the graphics. The startup time is quick as well, although it will slow down once you start installing more apps. Hopefully, this Dell Studio One 19 review provided you with the information you need to make a well-informed purchase.

Wii U Reviews: Speculations

Wii U Reviews

Reviews of the new Wii U are intriguing and also luke-warm, depending on who you are reading. If you are reading me, you get something in between. Wii U features an HDMI output which will output 1080p, but will not support Blu-Ray discs or DVD formats because Nintendo didn't want to pay the licensing royalties. This alone could make the console less attractive for many who are trying to choose between PS3's built-in Blu-Ray drive and the Wii U. Nintendo seems to be relying heavily on their unique brand and titles to see them through the format deficiency.

Wii U Specs: the Processors

To get a little more technical, the Wii U processor borrows on IBM's POWER processor architecture, one that has been criticized by a few (see Larry Ellison's quotes all over the internet) about it's inefficient design, and how it isn't green. This could be a significant issue, considering the millions and millions of consoles that will sell. Processors are definitely the center of the work that takes place.

In terms of graphics processing AMD has been more forth-coming as to an exact model number. They have announced that the Wii U will be using the R770 Radeon processor. This is at the fore-front of AMD video processing technology, outputting beautiful 60Hz 1080p video and supporting a whole new world of possibilities for Nintendo games. Critics view them as arriving on the scene late.

Wii U Specs: Optical Drive

As stated before, the Wii U will have an optical drive but will not accept Blu-Ray or DVD discs due to licensing qualms. Instead, Nintendo has opted to blaze their own way with their own proprietary format of HD video disc. Their new format will be high-density like Blu-Ray and will only work for their own players. Do they do it just to drive you and I the consumer crazy? They definitely have meetings where they decide which route will make them more money in the long run, but what people should probably realize, is that HD streaming is right around the corner, and HD physical formats will be a non-issue. Perhaps Nintendo is making the right move. Whatever move they make, they are basically relying on the fact that everyone will be subscribing to online services like Netflix and Hulu plus. They are also relying on people having high-speed internet in general.

Wii U Controller

With the new console also comes a new controller. The new controller is quite large and has a 6.2 inch touchscreen built-in. It is not meant to replace the traditional remotes, but is meant to enhance gameplay, offering a new view into the game world. This allows new game types to be made, where players can hide and seek, or fight each other with their own unique perspectives on the game world.

There is much speculation on how successful the new console will be in comparison to the original console. The sky is the limit now in terms of hardware, where all signs point to impressive graphics and new game types.

How To Replace a Faulty Hard Drive

!±8± How To Replace a Faulty Hard Drive

If you have ever owned your own computer then at some point you have had to deal with hardware that dies at some point. Often many people do not know what is even wrong, but just their computer quit working and will not start. Oddly enough, when you actually try to start the computer it beeps a few times and suddenly displays a message... "OS Not Found".

Luckily for us though, its actually quite simple to replace a broken hard drive. Most of the time the only tool you even need is a phillips screw driver. Following these steps will allow you to replace that hard drive in no time flat! So here they are...

Disconnect the power cable from the back of the computer. Once you have the power disconnected, unplug all the other cables and wires from the computer.Place the computer tower on a table or stand to allow easier access to the computer.Locate the two screws holding the cover on the side of the computer. Some computers, like Dell, have a handle or button you press that will release the side of the computer for you without having to remove any screws.Remove the cover and place off to the side, out of the way.Unless you ordered more than one hard drive for your computer, most computers only come with one hard drive. Most of the time they are located in the spot directly under your computer's CD-ROM or DVD player. Older computers use IDE's drives and newer computers use SATA drives. IDE is easy to spot as it has a fairly wide cable attaching the hard drive to the mother board. SATA on the other hand, uses a lot smaller cable. They both also have some form of power cable attached to them. This is usually a small, white plastic jack for IDE, and an even smaller black jack for SATA. Once you know what kind you have you simply need to go buy a new hard drive thats the same as the old drive. At this point you can disconnect the old hard drive. Do not disconnect the cables yet.Install the new hard drive to the slot and screw it back down properly. Once you have the new hard drive in place, disconnect the first cable from the old hard drive.Attach this cable to the new hard drive.Disconnect the last cable and attach it to the new hard drive. With both cables connected, you should be able to replace the cover and screws to reseal your computer case.Re-attach each cable to the back of your computer, connecting the power cable back up last.Install a fresh copy of Windows on your computer and you should be good as new. Most computers come with some kind of disk that will reinstall Windows for you. Simply turn on your computer, insert the disk as soon as you can, and it should display a message asking you if you would like to boot from the CD. The Windows installation is fairly simple after that.

Once you've replaced a hard drive, replacing other things like a vidoe card, or modem are a piece of cake. Most everything else simply plugs into some kind of slot making most hardware work a breeze.

The History of HP TouchSmart Desktop Computer

!±8± The History of HP TouchSmart Desktop Computer

The TouchSmart is a touch screen computer from HP. This range of computers comes as an all in one desktop PC or a laptop. The operating system used by the HP TouchSmart is Windows Vista and more recently the new Windows 7.  Depending on the model you choose it will have either an Intel or AMD processor.

Bill Gates launched the TouchSmart way back in January 2007, it was the first touch screen computer to be mass marketed as a desktop computer. The first TouchSmart machines, known as the TouchSmart IQ770 series, had a 19 inch touch screen. The machine had all you would expect from a modern desktop including a range of USB ports and connectors to allow you to hook up to the internet and other devices. The first models received good reviews from critics.

Some time went by and in June 2008 the second series of TouchSmart computers were released, the HP TouchSmart IQ500. These computers had a larger 22 inch touch screen monitor, Intel Core Duo processor and a large 500GB disk space. HP also released the TouchSmart IQ800 series which features a 25.5 inch touch screen monitor and made it more of an entertainment hub by including a TV tuner with remote control. Some of the models in the IQ800 series had integrated Blu-Ray.

The most up to date models in the HP touch screen range are the TouchSmart 300 and TouchSmart 600 which were both released in October 2009. The TouchSmart 300 is a great family computer and is very easy to use. This third generation of HP touchscreen computers continues to get rave reviews from digital review sites.  The TouchSmart 300 has started to integrate voice recognition into some of its programs making it a truly futuristic machine. The TouchSmart 300 and TouchSmart 600 are similar in specifications it's the screen size where they differ TouchSmart 300 has a 20 inch monitor whilst the TouchSmart 600 has a 23 inch.

The TouchSmart 300 and TouchSmart 600 are aimed at the consumer market however HP has released the TouchSmart 9100 for business users. The TouchSmart 9100 is very similar to the TouchSmart 600 it runs on Windows 7 Professional. The software packed into this impressive machine better caters for business users than the models aimed at consumers.
